The FirstyGroup is 'Appy to serve publishers' needs.
Digital publishing solutions company FirstyGroup has signed a partnership with Kiwa Media to sell their QBook applications for the iPhone and iPad to publishers. The FirstyGroup already offers a straight e-book conversion service for publishers.
Kiwa Media's QBook apps offer various functionalities including Swipe-to-Read, to highlight and playback the story at the reader’s own pace; Touch-to-Hear, to hear the letters that spell each word; Auto Play, to enjoy the narration; Colour In Paint Mode, to colour in the book’s illustrations and Record Yourself, to encourage reading skills. Each app can be personalized and multiple languages are available.
Kiwa Media's global clients include Penguin and Random House, for whom they are currently developing a wide range of children‟s book apps. The standard QBook App build through the FirstyGroup will cost £2,000 per App (including all of above the functionality above).
Darin Brockman, FirstyGroup CEO said: “We are delighted to be continually bringing the very best
of expertise to publishers and authors, big and small, with our 360 digital publishing
solution. The addition of QBook applications to our existing portfolio of solutions for
publishers is very exciting. Kiwa Media‟s experience in this field is second to none and we
are thrilled to be working together.”
Rhonda Kite, Kiwa Media CEO added: “We recognise FirstyGroup‟s excellence in delivering digital
solutions to publishers and authors. Working with FirstyGroup to offer market-leading
applications is a natural progression for us and for them. They have an excellent track record
and we are looking forward to combining our specialist skills to promote QBook to a wide
publishing market.”
FirstyFish, the FirstyGroup's eBook store, will be selling John Wiley's eBooks from today.
